Baker
Babylonstoren has an exciting opportunity for a passionate, detail-oriented and people-focussed baker to join the bakery team. This position will focus on the manufacturing and processing of baked goods, primarily breads. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and positive professional with experience in the baking industry.
Requirements
- A completed National Senior Certificate qualification (matric / Grade 12).
- At least five years’ relevant baking experience.
- Proficiency with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters.
- HACCP knowledge would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload efficiently.
- Excellent time-management and planning skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Collaborative mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina, including the ability to lift heavy items for extended periods.
- Ability to read and follow recipes
- Willingness to work shifts.
Responsibilities
- Assist the bakery supervisor with relevant tasks.
- Plan production schedules and effectively prioritise workload.
- Weigh and mix ingredients, ferment dough, and bake goods.
- Conduct post-baking quality inspections and evaluations.
- Perform daily stock-taking and communicate relevant information.
