The ideal candidate has a passion for educating the youth, exceptional people skills, ability to leverage their network in the education sector, and the drive to help establish an exceptional institution. Kleinbosch is a historic farm that housed the first official Afrikaans school. A competitive package will be offered.

Requirements

• A relevant education or language qualification.
• Relevant experience in an educational environment, such as school principal.
• Established network in South-African education circles.
• Experience in managing a team of staff.
• Experience as head of department, school principal or curriculum coordinator would be beneficial.
• Exposure to school, camp or course facilitation would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
• Good people skills (public-facing and in a hospitality context).
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive disposition.
• Vision for growth and development.
• Trustworthy and well organised.
• Passionate and comfortable when liaising with learners, parents and school principles.

Responsibilities

• Recruit a team to operate the centre under your management.
• Reach out to parents and schools to establish and fill a calendar year’s schedule with camps as soon as possible.
• Offer annual courses of excellence, e.g. a gathering for top science achievers or computer programmers. These courses should cover interesting topics that stimulate and develop the youth.
• Fill the centre’s schedule with well-attended courses as soon as possible.
• Obtain feedback and drive continuous improvement.
• Offer support in facilitating leadership and life-skills courses.
• Offer support in the roll-out of vacation programmes and academic excellence courses.
