Try your hand at versatile choux pastry to create numerous variations, from classic eclairs filled with pastry cream to salty treats of choux puffs with gruyère cheese and biltong filling.

Following a short ride along the picturesque slopes of Simonsberg, we’ll descend towards the historical farmyard of Soetmelksvlei, which represents a time when life was simpler, and craftsmanship was treasured. Here, master baker Martjie Malan will teach you the art of making her tried-and-tested choux recipe.

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll also celebrate the seasonal Babylonstoren almond harvest with Martjie’s famous macaroons. Martjie will demo and guests will get to taste.

After an exciting morning, a hearty lunch will be served at the Old Stables Restaurant.
