Is there anything better that biting into a ripe fig – freshly picked from the tree – in the height of summer? We think not, which is why we’re inviting you to our fig orchards to taste and pick some of the season’s bounty. We’ll learn about and taste the various cultivars growing on the farm and choose the ripest ones to take to the Old Bakery kitchen. Here, you’ll learn to cook traditional ripe fig jam with our farm food connoisseur, Louzel Steyn. We’ll also share a few more simple recipes to elevate the sweet, natural taste of these royal fruits.

To ease the sting of summer, our gelato queen, Carla Hills, will share her secrets on making the creamiest gelato, using water buffalo milk from our very own herd. The day ends with a light lunch with figs as the hero ingredient.

Steaming coffee from the Lekker Room is served upon arrival.
Lunch in the Tasting Room is included.
