Sister Estates
Our Sister Estates are grounded in a sense of place and history; sharing our philosophy of celebrating natural beauty, farm-to-table living, and immersive guest experiences. They are sanctuaries blending hospitality, agriculture, and horticulture.
A Country Estate, Reimagined. Our working estate in Somerset, UK has acres of splendid gardens, woodland, farmland and cyder orchards to explore. Stay a night or two – or become a member and see the landscape change throughout the year.
Keurboomstrand is one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire world. It’s small and intimate, nestled in a craggy elbow where the Tsitsikamma mountains almost meet the Indian Ocean. Yet not too far from the amenities of Plettenberg Bay. Our owners have been vacationing at Keurboomstrand for decades. BLOU now shares this sensory rewilding with a few friends. Eight self-catering cottages and a swimming pool offer barefoot luxury on the edge of the beach.
Because so few cottages exist, and demand always outstrips supply, regrettably we can accept only guests who have already stayed at either of the farm hotels Babylonstoren or The Newt in Somerset.
Nestled between forests and streams on the Chianti hills, Vignamaggio is a sustainable farm with a historic wine cellar that has been in operation since 1404. The estate sprawls over more than 400 hectares, with vineyards, vegetable and ornamental gardens, and a taste of la dolce vita for anyone who desires it.
Situated on the Amstel River in the Duivendrechtse Polder, a region near Amsterdam with a rich history. Built in 1894, Over-Amstel Boerderij has been lovingly restored in recent years – working closely with the local community, and focusing on tradition, quality and the polder life.

It shines the light on Emily Hobhouse, an inspirational woman from Cornwall who challenged the social norms of the Victorian era and changed the lives of thousands of women and children during the Second Anglo-Boer War.
