R 2200 per person.
Step into the world of traditional craftsmanship as you create a versatile African farming implement that combines the functions of an axe and a hoe. Once an essential tool across rural landscapes, it reflects generations of ingenuity, resourcefulness and skill. This workshop combines woodworking and blacksmithing, with two hours spent carving a wooden handle and three hours at the forge shaping and crafting the steel head entirely by hand.
Held at the Workshop at Soetmelksvlei, a scenic working farmyard set in the late 1800s. The price includes farm entry, shuttle rides, refreshments, a hearty farm-style lunch in the Old Stables Restaurant, plus a beautifully crafted traditional farm implement to take home.
