Celebrate a cherished Cape Malay Easter tradition in this joy-filled, hands-on workshop with master baker Martjie Malan.

Following a short ride along the picturesque slopes of Simonsberg, we’ll descend towards the historical farmyard of Soetmelksvlei, which represents a time when life was simpler, and craftsmanship was treasured. Here, Martjie will teach you to prepare classic pickled fish using battered hake fillets gently simmered in a mild curry sauce with onions and bay leaves – a South African favourite that beautifully balances sweet, tangy and spicy flavours.

You’ll also master warm, aromatic hot cross buns, lightly spiced and made with or without raisins. This workshop equips you with the confidence to recreate these beloved Easter staples at home, making it a festive day of skill-building and delicious discovery.

Steaming coffee from the Farm Shop is served upon arrival. Lunch at the Old Stables Restaurant is included.
